Use tags to organize books in your store automatically in Smart Collections

All of BooksCloud books come with tags visible in the Shopify Admin on each product's page. Tags are a way to organize products in your store.

Every book has the most basic tag, Books. They also have more specific tags based on the BISAC categories for the book. BISAC categories are the way the book industry organizes books.

You can use these tags with Smart Collections to organize your book selections automagically without having to put each book in its own menu item manually.

You can use Shopify's AI to do most of the heavy lifting. Click on the ninja in the navigation bar of your Shopify admin:

Copy and paste this text in the AI text box that appears. Adjust it for your own use, for example, if you are only using 5 of Categories you don't need 54 Smart Collections. 

I need 54 Smart Collections. All of them should have three conditions.

The first condition is: Inventory stock is greater than 0
 
The second ne condition should always be: Tag is equal to Books

The third condition should be: Tag is equal to one of the following:

Antiques & Collectibles
Architecture
Art
Bibles
Biography & Autobiography
Body, Mind & Spirit
Business & Economics
Coffee Table Books
Comics & Graphic Novels
Computers
Cooking
Crafts & Hobbies
Design
Drama
Education
Family & Relationships
Fiction
Foreign Language Study
Games & Activities
Gardening
Health & Fitness
History
Holidays & Celebrations
House & Home
Humor
Juvenile Fiction
Juvenile Nonfiction
Language Arts & Disciplines
Law

The name of each Collection should be the name of the third condition.

Write an SEO optimized description and meta-description. 

Then, you will need to click Preview on each one that appears and review it and save it.
 
It probably won't make all of them at the same time, so you will need to give it some praise and ask it to continue.

You can copy and paste:
Good job. Now make all of the rest.

You will need to click Preview on each of the remaining ones that appear and review them and save them. Just make sure it has made them all and then we can go to the next step. Otherwise you will have to ask it to continue.

Now, you will likely want to create a top level Collection for all the books.
 
Copy and paste this into the AI and preview and save.

Now create a Smart Collection with Tag is equal to Books. Provide the SEO description and meta-description.

Depending on how many books you have added, it will take some time to populate all of the Collections with books.
 
Now, you use the Collections to create menus. This may or may not work, but it is worth giving it a try and see if the AI will do it.  Ask the AI to do the following:

Now, let's create Menu items within the menu called Menus. The top level menu item should be labeled:

Books

Books should link to the Smart Collection called Books that you created.

There should also be 54 Sub-Menu items to the Books Menu Item that should be called:

Architecture
Art
Bibles
Biography & Autobiography
Body, Mind & Spirit
Business & Economics
Coffee Table Books
Comics & Graphic Novels
Computers
Cooking
Crafts & Hobbies
Design
Drama
Education
Family & Relationships

Gardening
Health & Fitness
History
Holidays & Celebrations
House & Home
Humor
Juvenile Fiction
Juvenile Nonfiction
Language Arts & Disciplines
Law

Pets
Philosophy
Photography

They should each link to the Smart Collections with the same name that you just created. 

 At the time of writing this email, this would not create the menus. if it does end up working for you, please let us know so we can update this email! Shopify is updating their AI, so it is worth checking ... otherwise you have to do it manually...
 
To do it manually, go to Content > Menus. 

 Add the Books menu item and link it  to the Books Collection you created.

 

 Then, you will want to sub-menu items by copying and pasting the name of the Smart Collections you created in both boxes, selecting Collections from the second box and clicking the check box to approve it.
 
To make it a sub-menu pull the tabby to the right so it goes in and under Books.

There you go! Now, add more books to you store!
