Obtained her PhD Social Sciences and International Communication from Amsterdam University in 1983. Worked for years as senior broadcaster, producer, newsreader and reporter for the Dutch Foreign Broadcasting in Hilversum. Lived on and managed the family farm in the Dutch Veluwe countryside between 1978 and 2010. Established and ran the Coptic Museum in Ruinerwold, between 2000 and 2006.\u2028Attended drama writing courses at Exeter College, Oxford University between 2004 and 2006.
