Following her PhD in Technical Textiles, which was supported by the then Acordis Ltd, she went on to do postdoctoral research at Heriot-Watt University, UK, working on EU funded innovation projects. When she left academia, she joined the R\u0026amp;D team at Convatec Ltd, one of the global market leaders in advanced wound care. Sharon subsequently went on to work for SSL International Plc, and Reckitt-Benckiser Plc, continuing to work on the development of medical devices.
