Throughout my investigation, I discovered significant gaps in legal protections for victims. At the time, New York treated many forms of cybercrime as civil matters rather than criminal offenses. Determined to create change, I worked with members of the New York State Assembly and Senate to help draft legislation that would elevate cybercrime to felony status.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs I pursued justice, I was also coping with the loss of my vision-a challenge that became intertwined with my fight for accountability.
