He started his writing career writing funny poetry anthologies and visiting schools and libraries to encourage children to create their own silly rhymes. He has had work published in various magazines and anthologies. \u003cbr\u003eMike's first picture book, \u003ci\u003eOlivia's Voice\u003c\/i\u003e, was a 2018 CBCA Awards Notable book, followed by \u003ci\u003eVanishing \u003c\/i\u003eand \u003ci\u003eLet's Build a House\u003c\/i\u003e. \u003cbr\u003eAs well as being a writer, Mike also owns a bookshop in Adelaide, Shakespeare's Bookshop in Blackwood.
