The Norwood Historical Society--founded \u003cbr\u003eat the very beginning of the twentieth century--has served as a \u003cbr\u003erepository of images from all these communities, and it is with \u003cbr\u003egreat pride that the society offers the enclosed selections from its \u003cbr\u003ephotographic archives in this timely publication. \u003cbr\u003eMany of the images in this collection, which chronicles \u003cbr\u003ethe community's development from a rural village through \u003cbr\u003ethe industrial and technological eras, have never before been \u003cbr\u003epublished. The glass-plate negatives on which they were \u003cbr\u003epreserved were only recently discovered in the society's attic. \u003cbr\u003eSome images are attributed to the famous Norwood photographer \u003cbr\u003eFred Holland Day, whose interest in the history of his hometown \u003cbr\u003eand passion for the art of photography provided the inspiration \u003cbr\u003efor this book.
