Moulton is a wildlife ecologist with a B.A. in biology (Colgate Univ., Hamilton, NY), a M.S. in wildlife ecology (Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison, WI), and a Ph.D. in wildlife science (Utah State Univ., Logan, UT). He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Univ. of Minnesota in Minneapolis-St. Paul. He is recognized as a Certified Wildlife Biologist by the Wildlife Society. He has worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Hawaii and Maryland, the Maryland Wildlife Administration in Annapolis, and for over 20 years at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. in Austin. His work at TPWD focused on wetland ecosystems all over Texas, but especially coastal wetlands. After retirement from TPWD, he taught for over six years as an adjunct professor of environmental science and biology at several colleges in the Dallas area.
