These meditations on life are packed with musings on joy and sadness, loss, and nature.

Donald Mace Williams spent much of his long career as a newspaper writer and editor and has been a devoted student and amateur performer of German Lieder by Schubert and other great composers. The metrical flow, frequent rhymes, and clear beginning-middle-end structure found in many of his poems reflect the strong influence of music on his work.

Now in his nineties, Williams remains a traditionalist in both literary and musical tastes. Though meter and rhyme may be considered old-fashioned by some, for Williams they are, like him, very much alive and thriving.
Author Biography

DONALD MACE WILLIAMS is a former writing coach for The Wichita Eagle and reporter and editor for papers that include Newsday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and the Amarillo Globe-News.
