At the age of 20, she moved to Arizona, where she finished college at Arizona State University in 1982 with a B.S. in Advertising. In 1988, she married Daniel Wing and moved to Northern California, where she worked in advertising for a number of years. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eIt wasn't until 1991 that she decided to write children's books. Luckily she sold her first book, \u003cb\u003eHippity Hop, Frog on Top\u003c\/b\u003e, within 6 months and has been writing children's books and articles ever since. Her second book, \u003cb\u003eJalapeno Bagels\u003c\/b\u003e, came out in June 1996 with Atheneum Books. \u003cb\u003eThe Night Before Easter\u003c\/b\u003e, was published with Putnam All Aboard Books. She has also been published in \u003ci\u003eHumpty Dumpty's Magazine\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eGirls' Life\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eHopscotch for Girls\u003c\/i\u003e, and has two recipes in \u003ci\u003eWriters in the Kitchen\u003c\/i\u003e. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e Cartoonist, illustrator, writer \u003cb\u003eMike Lester\u003c\/b\u003e is the creator of the nationally syndicated comic \u003ci\u003eMike Du Jour\u003c\/i\u003e and the author-illustrator of many children books, including the \u003ci\u003eNew York Times \u003c\/i\u003eBest Illustrated Book \u003ci\u003eA Is for Salad\u003c\/i\u003e. He is the recipient of five National Cartoonist Society Awards and two Sigma Delta Chi Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.
