This was the beginning of the Orama Christian Community, which is still active today. The community focused on giving respite and rehabilitation opportunities to those in need, often caring for people with addictions and other difficulties. Orama ran family holiday camps over the summer period and also developed training schools for those that wanted to learn more about Christian discipleship, as it was known in the late 20th Century.\u003cbr\u003eThere were numerous projects initiated and adventures had on this remote patch of beach and bush which impacted 100's of volunteers, residents and visitors over the years.
