He is a semi-retired physician and teacher, a bird hunter and fly fisherman, and even a golfer of sorts. Now in his eighth decade, he feels he is living the icing on the cake. He obtained an MFA in creative writing in his seventh decade in order to develop skills in painting images of life with words. This is his motivation to write his novels and short stories. He thinks that when a person writes well, they not only share there view of elusive reality, but also learn.
