If you are building a book store on Shopify with BooksCloud, one of the most practical questions you will face is coverage: can every customer in the United States — regardless of where they live — actually receive a book from your store? The answer is yes. BooksCloud ships to all 50 US states, all major US territories, and military APO and FPO addresses.
The Full Coverage Map
BooksCloud fulfills orders to every USPS-reachable address in the United States and its territories. That includes:
- All 50 states, including Hawaii and Alaska
- Puerto Rico
- Guam
- American Samoa
- US Virgin Islands (USVI)
- Military APO and FPO addresses
If a customer has a valid US mailing address — including military overseas addresses — BooksCloud can ship to them. The carrier for all BooksCloud shipments is USPS, which is exactly why this coverage is so broad. USPS reaches every address in the United States and its territories as a matter of policy, and BooksCloud's use of Media Mail fits squarely within that network.
Does the $7 Flat Rate Apply Everywhere?
Yes. BooksCloud charges a flat rate of $7 per order, and that rate applies uniformly regardless of destination. Whether your customer is in central Ohio, rural Alaska, a neighborhood in San Juan, or a military base overseas, the shipping cost is the same $7.
This is significant for merchants because it means you never have to set up tiered shipping zones or worry about whether a remote address will trigger a surcharge. Your shipping configuration can stay simple: one flat rate, all US addresses covered.
What About International Shipping?
BooksCloud does not currently ship outside the United States and its territories. If a customer places an order with an international address, it will not be fulfilled by BooksCloud. For now, the service is US-only — though that covers an enormous addressable market, including every military family stationed abroad through the APO/FPO system.
If you accept international customers in your Shopify store, make sure your shipping settings reflect BooksCloud's coverage. You may want to restrict BooksCloud-listed products to US shipping zones or communicate clearly at checkout that certain items are US-delivery only.
Delivery Timelines for Non-Contiguous Locations
While BooksCloud ships to Hawaii, Alaska, and US territories at the same flat rate, it is worth setting accurate expectations with customers in these locations. USPS Media Mail is not a priority service, and deliveries to non-contiguous states or territories may take additional transit time compared to mainland addresses. Standard mainland orders typically arrive within a few days after fulfillment, but customers in Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico should be prepared for the higher end of that estimate or slightly beyond.
For print-on-demand titles, fulfillment itself takes longer before the book even ships — typically 4 to 12 business days — so factor that into the total timeline you communicate to customers.
Military APO/FPO: A Meaningful Benefit
Many e-commerce stores cannot reliably ship to military APO and FPO addresses because they rely on commercial carriers that do not service those destinations. Because BooksCloud uses USPS — the only carrier that serves military mail — your store can reach active duty service members and their families stationed overseas. For a book store, that is a meaningful capability worth highlighting if you serve or want to serve a military audience.
