PickyStory is a Shopify bundling app that lets you create fixed bundles, "build-a-box" experiences, and frequently-bought-together widgets across your product catalog. When your store has both physical products (sourced through a general dropshipping app) and books (sourced through BooksCloud), PickyStory treats them identically — as Shopify products — and can bundle them together without any special configuration.
How PickyStory Works
PickyStory pulls from your existing Shopify product catalog. It doesn't distinguish between how a product was sourced — it sees all published Shopify products. Once BooksCloud books are published to your store, they appear in PickyStory's product selector exactly like any other product.
The main bundle types you'll use:
Fixed bundle: A specific set of products sold together at a combined price (with optional discount). Example: "Starter Yoga Kit" = yoga mat + foam roller + yoga philosophy book = $85 (versus $98 bought separately).
Frequently bought together: A widget that appears on a product page showing 1-2 companion products. Example: On the yoga mat page, show the anatomy book and a resistance band together with a "Buy all 3" button.
Build-a-box: Customer selects their own items from a curated collection. Example: "Build Your Fitness Library" — choose 3 books from a curated selection at a bundle discount.
Setting Up a Physical + Book Bundle
1. Install PickyStory from the Shopify App Store
2. Ensure your BooksCloud books are published to your Shopify store with correct titles and prices
3. In PickyStory, create a new bundle and search for your physical product as the anchor item
4. Add a relevant book from BooksCloud as the companion item (search by title in the product selector)
5. Set the bundle pricing — either a flat bundle price or a percentage discount off the combined retail price
6. Place the bundle widget on the relevant product pages using PickyStory's placement tools
One Important Note: Fulfillment
Bundles with physical products from different suppliers (your general dropshipping app plus BooksCloud) will fulfill separately. PickyStory handles the Shopify product-level bundling; each item still routes to its respective fulfillment app. This is expected and normal — but make sure your shipping policy notes that items may arrive in separate shipments.
The AOV lift from a well-configured bundle typically outweighs any customer friction from separate delivery.
