by Jane Myhra (Editor), Palmer Myhra (Author)

"A Frantic Saga" tells the story of World War II experiences from the perspective of an enlisted man. Though the people appear to be ordinary, the story is unique. This is the story of U.S. Air Force personnel traveling through Egypt and the Middle East into the Soviet Union and learning to live among the Ukrainians. It also describes the beginnings of the Cold War. "A Frantic Saga" recalls a remarkable adventure in vivid detail.

Author Biography

Palmer Myhra grew up in Rosholt, Wisconsin, during The Great Depression. He and his three brothers answered the call to service during World War II and their younger brother served in Vietnam. When the war ended, Palmer married Lois Zimmermann in 1946. They purchased a dairy farm near Iola, Wisconsin, in 1951, where they raised Registered Guernseys. Palmer (1921-2009) and Lois (1922-2007) had five daughters and seven grandchildren. "A Frantic Saga" is Palmer's third book. His first book, "Zeb's Water," is an historical novel set in the mid-1850s. His second book, "A Country Boy's Depression," is about growing up during the Depression years in the 1930s.
