A Theory of Aspect Orientation - Paperback

In this work we identify the main concepts of Aspect Orientation (AO), namely message filters and an aspect weaver. In doing so, we substantiate these notions by defining a composition model based on the formal language FOCUS and a model of composition filters designed in this work. We develop a composition model that allows us to explore a critical problem in AO, namely aspect interaction. We explore this at the case of two security aspects: encryption and authentication.
