Alone Across the Skybridge: A Nurse's Cancer Journey - Paperback
by Tracy Neil West Bsn (Author)
Alone Across the Skybridge is the story of my cancer journey, centered around many of my Facebook journal entries, along with backstories and pictures made from the time I was diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B cell lymphoma in December 2020 and throughout the debilitating, caustic chemo treatments and up to the recovery phase in December 2021. The cancer journey of a thirty-plus-year registered nurse--going from a caregiver and nurse consultant to a cancer patient during the COVID madness of 2021--was not only a physical and mental journey but also a spiritual one. It was also an awakening to the many problems occurring in our health-care industry. Some events from my cancer journey left painful memories, but many gave me spiritual growth like I had never experienced before. In this book, I try to rightly divide all the components of my cancer journey through details, humor, and how God played a key role in my survival from stage 4 lymphoma. God's tapestry is woven all throughout my cancer journey, and His hand is clearly seen in many of the events leading up to and through my battle with lymphoma.
