Author Biography

Bhakti Mathur lives in Hong Kong with her husband, their two sons, and two dogs. After a long stint as a banker, she now juggles her time between writing, teaching yoga, executive coaching and bibliotherapy.

Bhakti is a children's book author with 21 published titles to date. She started the Amma Tell Me series (2011) to share with her children the stories from Hindu mythology that had once mesmerized her as a child. Written in rhyme and vividly illustrated, the series endeavors to keep the tradition of oral storytelling alive and create a special moment between parent and child. Bhakti is also the author of the Amma Take Me series (published by Penguin Random House, India).

Bhakti is also a freelance journalist for South China Morning Post, chronicling inspirational people and their journeys through life, health and fitness. When not writing or running after her teenagers, Bhakti is happiest curled up with a book in one hand and a hot cup of chai in the other.
