by Thomas Mitchell (Author)

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
- 2 Corinthians 1:6

Pastor Thomas Mitchell Jr. has been involved in prison ministry for many years, encountering a number of people who have been incarcerated for violent crimes. He has also worked with the inmates and their families before and after they are released. God called him to this work, but he is also uniquely equipped to minister to people in that world because he is well acquainted with the loss and pain common to those whose lives have been touched by tragedy.

That's because Pastor Mitchell lost not one son but two to violence. One was murdered and the other is serving a life sentence for taking the life of another. In this book, And A Father Cried, Pastor Mitchell tells his story of loss and urges you to remember not just the mothers but also the fathers when a family experiences losses like he has. And he gives practical advice for those who have suffered loss or those who are caring for those who have.
