ENGLISH DESCRIPTION We are in the midst of fascism and Francoism. The persecution of Jews, intellectuals, artists, and anyone who opposes the regime has begun; concentration camps have already spread to France, especially in Argelès-sur-Mer. It is in this context that the figure of Mexican diplomat Gilberto Bosques emerges. First sent as Mexican consul to Paris and then transferred to Marseille, he and his family will risk their lives to save thousands of people. Meanwhile, young Catalans Mina and Franscesc flee repression in search of safety and prove, in an epic journey, that we can still believe in humanity and that solidarity, hope and love will prevail in their attempt to start over. In this historical fiction, Mónica Castellanos recreates terrible moments from the 1930s and 1940s in Europe, with glimpses of Mexico at that time, and takes us by the hand through the heroic feat of Bosques and many others who made it possible to see a light amidst such terrible darkness.
