This essay analyzes the production of francophone literary texts, from the Goncourt awarded to Rene Maran in 1921 to Kourouma's Soleils des independancesin 1970. It recreates the excavation of this history, analyzes its reception in the French press, and offers a new approach to the concept of "francophonie".
