It is a story of a Converted Miser, the 23rd chapter of the Eknathi Bhagavata, the well known Marathi saint's composition of the Bhagavata. Reverend Abbott, an American missionary lived for decades in India and became an admirer of Marathi saints amongst whom Eknath is counted as one of the pre-eminents.
