Iranian illustrator Shideh Sekhavati was born on June 7, 1989. Iran's capital city, Tehran, is home to her. Art has always been a part of her life because she has been interested in painting since she was a young girl. She has spent the last five years working as a freelance illustrator. Shideh earned a bachelor's degree in architecture and art. She has nine years of drawing and narrative writing experience in addition to her degree. Shideh is the author of three children's books that she has also illustrated. The Elephant in a Dark Room was released in 2022. It uses graphite and acrylic as a method. This tale, adapted from Rumi's lengthy Persian poetry Masnavi, is meant for young readers between the ages of ten and sixteen. Don't Crawl was published in 2023. It is intended for kids between the ages of three and seven, and it uses an acrylic technique. Look was first published in 2024. It is intended for kids between the ages of six and eight, and it uses an acrylic technique. This silent book has been chosen for the Escuela Superior de Aragon 2024 children's picture book exhibition.
