El Baile / The Dance - Hardcover
by Bea Lozano (Illustrator), Ir?ne N?mirovsky (Author)
The Kampfs, a family of nouveau riche settled in a luxurious Parisian apartment, have everything money can buy, but they lack what they crave most: the recognition of French high society. Eager to win her admiration, the couple prepares a big ball that Mrs. Kampf forbids her daughter, Antoniette, to attend, to which the young teenager decides to take revenge. The Dance is a masterful work in which N?mirovsky makes an exquisite portrait of the difficult relationship of a mother and her daughter, of social ambition, hypocrisy and the arduous road to adulthood. A small jewel of universal literature.Author Biography
