This paper proposes to present an estimate of the capabilities of the Axis powers to wage chemical warfare in its principal phases, without special emphasis on toxic gases, which may or may not be encountered. Germany, Italy, and Japan are highlighted; chemical troops, manufacture and storage, offensive weapons, defensive equipment, and civilian protection are topics discussed.
