Author Biography
Joe Roland, retired feature columnist with the Vancouver Courier, kept his readers entertained or infuriated for many years with his witty takes on everyday life. Born in Staffordshire, England he served in the RAF and worked as a forester, a librarian and an advertising copy writer before emigrating to Canada. In Toronto he worked as a patent writer then joined the CBC as a film editor. His travels took him to the West Coast where he eventually settled and took up freelance journalism. He currently lives in Tsawwassen, BC with his wife Helen who corrects his spelling and censors unacceptable words.
