Global Warming: Facts, Myths and Remedies: A Primer - Paperback
by Joaquin Sitte (Author)
This book takes the reader through the processes behind the current observed warming trend of the Earth's atmosphere as a foundation to explore what we CAN do NOW to prevent harm from a warming climate. The book empowers the reader to separate the facts from the myths about the processes that drive global warming and the feasibility and effectiveness of the possible remedial actions. The main features that set this book apart from other books on climate change are:
- The recognition that the remedies against the harmful consequences of global warming must include enough energy supply to sustain an affluent lifestyle for all.
- A step-by-step quantitative analysis of global warming and its remedies that any reader with basic mathematical competence can verify, allowing readers to gain confidence in their understanding and assessment of the issues around global warming.
- The transparent, fact-based assessment of the viability, effectiveness, and affordability of the remedies offered by proven and emerging technologies.
Back Jacket
- Global warming is real. Learn how the Earth's atmosphere regulates the climate and how we can influence it.
- Learn how to analyse the facts and draw your conclusions, ignoring global warming (climate change) deniers and alarmists. It is not difficult.
- You will find that global warming is unlikely to kill us, but it will be very uncomfortable for most humankind.
- Learn to spot the vested interests that promote false solutions to global warming.
- You will find what it takes to stop global warming fast.
- The climate ignores national boundaries, and no country can stop global warming alone.
- Find out how much energy we need to maintain an affluent lifestyle.
- Our main source of energy is fossil fuels. Check how much warming the CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels cause in the atmosphere.
- Investigate alternative energy sources to replace fossil fuels quickly enough before global warming becomes excessive?
- You will find that solar energy is abundant, and we know how to capture enough to power our economies.
- Learn to estimate the transition cost from a fossil-fuel to an alternative-energy economy.
- Make fact-based guesses about the geopolitical consequences of a solar-powered electric economy.
