Good Teachers are Thieves is a practical reference for busy teachers with helpful strategies in four critical areas: starting the year, classroom management, lesson planning, and grading. Filled with tips and suggestions that can be put to use today, this book focuses on philosophies for instruction that allow teaching to be both manageable and effective, creating a classroom that is productive (and fun) for both the students and the teacher. Inside, you'll find a toolbox filled with guidelines on 1) Starting Smart, with advice on the initial planning and preparation for the school year; 2) Smart Management, laying out a comprehensive classroom management plan; 3) Smart Planning, outlining the most critical elements of an effective lesson plan; and 4) Grading Smart, with key concepts for managing the grading workload. Teachers will want to fill their coffers with these great strategies before starting another year in the classroom.
