Author Biography
Barbara E. Elgutaa is a member of the Oneida Nation from Wisconsin and is part of the Turtle Clan. As a small child, she heard Oneida and Menominee languages growing up. In addition to language, she learned culture, stories and traditional ways. Barbara earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counselor education from the University of Wisconsin and worked as an education counselor for 30 years, including as a certified Multicultural Counselor and Psychological & Emotional Trauma counselor. Barbara currently lives in Tucson, Arizona.
Stefan Brunette was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he pursued his passion for art and storytelling from a young age. He graduated from Saint Mary's University in Calgary, Alberta, with a B.A. in English. He went on to earn his education degree and now teaches full-time. Stefan and his family live on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, in Orillia, Ontario.
