There are times when a child doesn't realize that he or she has done or said something that has hurt someone else's feelings. Tears may be running down another's face, yet the child who caused the reaction may not connect it with their behavior. This book reminds kids that by looking at another's face, he or she can tell if a person is happy or sad. A sad look can signal that something is wrong and that a child should step back and consider whether he or she is saying or doing something that may be hurting another's feelings. The child who is telling his own story in this book realizes that he needs to start being alert to physical signals in order to make and keep friends.

Author Biography

Jeannette Sabatini is an illustrator and writer with a degree in English/Journalism. She has been an editor and writer in the medical field, but her experience as a mom and an elementary school aide inspired her to start writing and illustrating stories for children. She expresses her motherly advice through poetry.
