Author Biography

PETER NEWMAN is an award-winning physician and writer, well known for his humanitarian work. His compassionate stories from his work around the globe give us a window into the privileged, and intimate, world of the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Newman has practiced comprehensive, cradle-to-the-grave medicine, and worked from Canada to the Caribbean and the Golan Heights, and from the Arctic to Africa, in peacetime and war. He has also been sought after as an expert to assess other doctors' standards of care. He shows us a doctor who truly listens, and who treats the whole person, in an era where technology often crowds out the human side of medicine. He lives in Toronto, ON.
