Author Biography
I have been teaching about insects and other aspects of the natural world for over 25 years. I have a Master's degree in Entomology, and my thesis research focused on teaching integrated pest management in the high school greenhouse. I spent several years at The Pennsylvania State University, where I co-taught the educational methods courses, Teaching With Insects and Bug Camp for Teachers. I also co-taught Bug Camp for Kids and Advanced Bug Camp for Kids, and helped organise a range of outreach programmes, including The Great Insect Fair. Upon moving to New Zealand, I started The Bugmobile, delivering science outreach programmes with live insects to schools and preschools throughout Canterbury. Today, I write full-time, spinning tales for children and young adults, and blogging about rural life.
