Author Biography

Award winning author, Dr. Betty Rudd currently practices as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist at Hygeia Health Centre in Sussex; she is a Doctoral Supervisor and Doctoral Examiner for British Universities, Freelance Author and Inventor (of games for facilitating mental wellness), Assessor and Co-ordinating Supervisor for trainees on the BPS QCoP Independent Route. Previously, Betty was Senior Lecturer on the Counselling Psychology Programme at UEL, and on the Board of Examiners for the BPS QCoP; she contributed to the government-endorsed document 'Every Child Matters' and is named by the BPS as an expert in Emotional Intelligence and non-verbal communication. She has worked with children, teenagers and adults since the 1960s; and for ten years under the NHS umbrella, within a Community Adult Mental Health Service. In 2002, she retired as BPS DCoP Press Officer, in 2003 as BPS DCoP SCC Chair and in 2004 as an Ordinary Member of the DCoP committee.
