Author Biography

Earline grew up in Manchester, Georgia, and says as a young girl, she worked in the family garden pulling weeds, watering tomato plants, digging potatoes, cropping collards, pulling and shucking corn, picking and shelling peas and beans, then spending hours preserving them. Earline always loved flowers and enjoyed popping morning glories and pushing her nose to the center of a sunflower just to get a whiff of the sweet summer aroma. She says she never thought she'd be caught working in a garden once she left home and went off to Fort Valley State University. However as fate would have it, she has several small areas of flowers which she calls her garden around her home, where she has lived for thirty-five years, with her husband, Wayne, of forty-two years, and their daughter, Sherlonda. Amazingly, after the death of their son, Antwain, the flowers became a source of therapy and joy for Earline. Once she retired from a fortune 500 company as a Sales Representative and five years after the death of their son, Earline started slowly getting into earnestly maintaining the flower garden. Working with the flowers gave her a deeper appreciation for the gift of life and all of the elements that affect how we live and interact with one another. In the country, she says people just called flower gardens, flowerbeds. Her small gardens are the inspiration for her gift of writing-- for which she says, she is very thankful to God. Earline invites us to spend time with her in her Garden. She invites us to walk through the flowerbeds of love, joy, pain and sorrow, then understand God's Mercy and Grace, found in the flowerbed of happiness and peace. She shows us how to come to know what God's gift of life means, interpreted through the writings of this book of poetic expression. Earline gives us a very touching work that will be treasured for a life-time by those who are blessed to experience these emotionally uplifting verses. She carefully shares her life lessons on almost every subject of the human experience. She truly is a gifted writer who possesses the artful talent of story-telling through poetry. Earline's book was three years in the writing. It has been a long journey; but one in which Earline has created a new world for herself and for those around her. This masterpiece of tender and inspirational verse is a must read. Earline, thank you for illuminating this path and giving us this treasure of you!
