Author Biography

onatella Di Pietrantonio was born in Arsita, a small village in the province of Teramo (Abruzzo, Italy), where she also spent her childhood. Since the age of nine, she has been writing stories, fairy tales, poetry, and novels. Duomo Ediciones has published her books to great acclaim: A Girl Returned (2018), which was a finalist for the Napoli Prize and won the Campiello Prize; A Sister's Story (2021), a finalist for the Strega Prize; and My Mother Is a River (2023), winner of the Tropea Prize. With The Fragile Age, Di Pietrantonio won the Strega Prize, where she captivated everyone with her speech full of emotion and commitment.
