Louisiana Birds
by James Kavanagh (Author), Waterford Press (Author), Raymond Leung (Illustrator)
One of the most biodiverse states in the union, Louisiana's bird list exceeds 470. This includes such iconic species as Roseate Spoonbill, Tricolored Heron, Piping Plover, Prothonotary Warbler, and state bird Brown Pelican. Not only is bird variety high, but spectacular congregations--especially of waterbirds--can be found along the Gulf Coast on shorelines and adjacent wetlands. Sifting through so many species is challenging, so it helps to have a portable reference to cut through the clutter and focus on the most familiar species. The beautifully illustrated Louisiana Birds features 140 common species as well as an ecoregion map showing over 20 bird-finding hotspots and learning sites. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and birders who wish to get better acquainted with Louisiana's birds and peer more closely into their fascinating lives. Made in the USA.
