Philip Comfort's 'Oceanic' is an intensely personal collection of sea poems written in stream of consciousness poetry. Freed from constraints of orthodox grammar and syntax, there are more than a few hints of G.M. Hopkins in these refreshingly innovative poems, meant above all to be read aloud. There are also subtly expressed paeans to a Creator God embedded in the verse. Author Biography

Philip W. Comfort, Ph.D., D. Litt. et Phil., has studied English Literature, Greek, and New Testament at the Ohio State University and the University of South Africa. He has taught these subjects at a number of colleges, including Wheaton College, Trinity Episcopal Seminary, Columbia International University, and Coastal Carolina University. He has written several books about the New Testament, in the fields of textual criticism, papyrology, and the Gospel of John, and is a published poet. He is author of 'Jesus Speaks', a narrative poem, and co-editor of a volume entitled, 'One Year Book of Poetry', a collection of 365 Christian poems, with annotations.
