Old Hat APoetic Memoire is about raising my children with a serious mental illness. Letting go of some old experiences and finding the new. Finding the present moment. Finding bliss from the city to the country with my children and husband in tow. Through the writing process and ultimately being published, I was able to heal my heart. Some poems turned out like prayers and others like little blips of the bigger picture. There are themes and connections from beginning to end. Using my folky nature style, I was able to express my story in a respectable way.
