Author Biography

Jerry D. Kaifetz, Ph.D. was a close friend and associate of Jack Schaap throughout the 1980's. Dr. Kaifetz was also a member of First Baptist Church of Hammond, a graduate of their college and seminary, and close to Dr. Jack Hyles, its controversial pastor. Kaifetz is exceedingly well positioned to chronicle not only what went wrong there and why, but to bring to the many victims of the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement a considerable measure of healing, insight, and renewed confidence in who they are and their inestimable value to a loving God. This book is also a warning to churches everywhere concerning the danger that lurks in man-centered ministries in all denominations.
