Return to Spirit Lake, is a memoir of the author's experiences camping, hiking, and working at Mount St. Helens before 1980, and her explorations of the area as a naturalist after the 1980 volcanic eruption. In 2005 it was honored as a "Washington Reads" book by the Washington State Librarian.
