The "old ways" of the goddess are alive and well May discovers, as she hears varying accounts of how the teenager died. That explains why, the villagers assure her, the flaxen haired and blue-eyed face that May has seen in the bathroom mirror of the rented cottage has made the area a ghost hunter favorite. As a series of unexplained deaths begins, each related in some way to the young girl who died in the mid-60's, May and the local detective constable work together to unravel the tangled web that 40 years of legend and lies has created.
