In 1978 he set off on a tour that began in Paris, which would be fuelled by rivers of alcohol and threatened by scandal. Bukowski, who travelled with Linda Lee, his young girlfriend, turned up drunk to the Apostrophes, a TV show, and after touching another guests legs, ended up insulting the presenter and storming off stage.
