Sleeping on Concrete is a memoir chronicling Sam Ashkenas' transition from male to female while at the same time dealing with her schizophrenia and other various psychiatric diagnoses including post-traumatic stress disorder and autism spectrum disorder. Eventually her story climaxes as she is arrested for threatening the president and spends nine months in prison.

Author Biography

Sam Ashkenas is a male-to-female transgendered person who also suffers from schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. She has been in psychiatric treatment since the age of two. Sleeping on Concrete is her first book.
