Initiated in 2005, "small change: Big Results" is an extension of "small change, a 28 Day Guide to Eating, Thinking, and Feeling Healthier" written and developed with my mother, Myrtle D. Russell. Within months of the initial release we realized that a disproportionate number of the students were neither at their ideal weight nor in satisfactory physical condition. Seeking big results in the fight against childhood obesity, this venture ultimately spawned from the sheer desire to help others be healthy and live prosperous lives. It quickly became our mission to help parents and their children find healthy alternatives to the disturbing immobilization trend going on in way too many American households. Use this book as a tool to begin to make some small changes in your child's life by infusing sports and physical activity. Use it for the sole purpose of getting your child on the go and having fun. You will need time, a positive attitude, and a simple journal to note the positive, life-altering recommendations discussed throughout this book.

Author Biography

As a co-author of small change and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate, Cameron has trained professionally in the fitness and sports arenas for thirteen years. He currently serves as a personal trainer/performance coach to professional athletes, as well as weekend warriors, expecting mothers, and youth looking to make lifestyle changes. In addition to sports training and promoting health and wellness, Cameron serves on the Board of Directors for the North Side Neighborhood House in Chattanooga, edits sports for the West Tennessee Examiner, and has contributed fitness and sports articles to online publications www.livestrong.com and www.Examiner.com. Myrtle Russell's career in health includes thirty years of service as nurse, educator, public health administrator, life coach, and writer. She currently serves as interim director for West TN Area Health Education Center, Inc., health editor for the West Tennessee Examiner, and spends the remainder of her time writing and coaching. She is the co-author of small change: a 28-day guide to eating, thinking, and feeling healthier, and has just released her second book, Free Your Mind and the Best Will Follow.
