"The adventures of Spider Woman and her twin grandsons and other characters are much more than exciting stories. They indicate the importance of traditions, social life, and customs among the Hopi... These abridged and expurgated accounts can be read by children and adults alike, not only for their cultural value but also as fine literature."--Arizona Highways

"This is a fine introduction to Hopi mythology and values. It recreates an authentic poetic spirit and makes the reader eager to read more Hopi tales." --New Mexico Humanities Review
