The Department of English, University of Ottawa, each year sponsors a symposium on a major Canadian writer. University of Ottawa Press, in its REAPPRAISALS: Canadian Writers series, publishes the proceedings of each symposium, to make available the criticisms and evaluations that were expressed. Where considered significant by the editor, additional critical articles and bibliographical material on the subject are included.
