In every creation by a Cheyenne artisan the knowledge and care given to the finished object is perceived as a sacred act. Whether a beaded moccasin, belt, design on a leather bag, shawl, painting or poem. The designs are endowed with metaphysical and mythological reference. When these items are sold to non-Cheyenne's there is always something in the design omitted. It is called the missing bead.
