Author Biography

Ed Mier was born in Trenton, New Jersey, the second of five sons. He was a child of the 1960s, raised during the unending malignancy of the Vietnam War. On graduation from Lehigh University he was commissioned in the U.S. Army and spent four years as an Infantry officer. He entered the corporate world initially as a computer-technology analyst, then went on to become a noted journalist, reporter, news bureau chief and managing editor with McGraw-Hill's technical magazine division, serving in San Francisco, Washington D.C. and New York City. Ed authored over two hundred leading-edge magazine articles on all aspects of networking technology. In the 1990s he became an entrepreneur and has since founded three companies. Ed lives in his remote mountainside home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
