Second place winner of the Florida's Royal Palm Literary Award for general fiction, The Wabele is a tale about twin boys, who unknowingly unleash evil into Door County, Wisconsin, while playing with a ritual mask from the secret Poro Society of West Africa. They become both target and bridge for an evil spirit, who sadistically assumes the persona of a clown, Mister Devlin. He is determined to seek revenge upon the Coast Guard lighthouse keeper and Door county for past wrongs.

Author Biography

Christopher Malinger is an award winning author of many science fantasy and horror stories. He lives with his wife, Eileen, in Central Florida. His most recent work, "The Object of Desire," appeared in "Journeys VII: An Anthology of Award-Winning Short Stories published in 2014. Other works include a collection of short stories, Tales to Keep You Awake, The Back Roads of Terror, Cat's Paw (Thriller) and the novella, The Wabele. He recently finished his war novella, The Unattended War, a ficitional account of the Coast Guard in the Vietnam War. He is a member of the Florida Writers Association, Independent Book Publishers, and The International Screenwriters Association.
