Verba Sequentur is John Flaus' second collection of poetry. Selected from work over many years, it comprises a diverse range of material. There's history and myth in these verses-the "history" is the experience of a full life well lived coming through in the depth and reach of the allusions, and the "myth" is present in what the poet does with this life-experience. Aldous Huxley once said something like: "Experience is not what happens to you: it is what you do with what happens to you." And Flaus turns his experience-as an actor, as a lover, as a lecturer, as many many things-to good account in many of these poems.
