Can a life of deep faith coexist with deep sorrow?

Carolyn Kazmierczak knows what it feels like to cry out to God in silence, to walk through each day feeling invisible, hollow, and exhausted--but still desperate for meaning. In When Darkness Falls, she invites you into her honest and redemptive journey through decades of clinical depression as a believer in Christ. With raw vulnerability, biblical insight, and encouragement grounded in Scripture, she explores the emotional and spiritual questions that so many silently carry:

  • Why do I feel this way if I trust Jesus?
  • Is depression a spiritual failure--or a doorway to deeper faith?
  • How can God use something so painful for something good?

Blending personal storytelling, biblical teaching, journal prompts, and reflections on Christian thinkers like Spurgeon, Corrie ten Boom, and C.S. Lewis, Carolyn gently guides readers toward the truth that God is near to the brokenhearted--and He does not waste our pain.

If you're struggling in the shadows and longing for hope, this book will meet you there--with honesty, grace, and the assurance that even in the valley, your life has divine purpose.
